Keynote: Creating an active and connected city
Leicester City Council has been in the vanguard of the UK’s active cities, championing and implementing a renaissance in active travel and public transport.
Leicester organises its mobility services to support active and connected travel around the city. Leicester is faciltating walking and wheeling, supporting e-mobility, creating cycle hubs and enhancing passenger transport and exploring new approaches to park & ride.
Mobility hubs: A regional view
A look at how mobility hubs are being built into transport policies across the Midlands and profiles of networks being trialled in the East Midlands region.
Mobility hubs: The national picture
A snapshot of how mobility hubs are spreading across the UK and a look at funding options, design guidance and accreditation schemes.

Session 2a: Sharing the journey
The mobility hubs approach encourages local authorities, public transport operators and shared mobility providers to explore co-working. Mobility Hubs 2026 will provide a space in which participants cab explore working in partnership to create new hubs and enhances existing infrastructure.
Session 2b: New developments
Too many new housing developments remain car-dependent. However, some developers are now including ‘mobility hubs’ in their plans. This session will use presentations and an interactive game to explore the role, form, funding and operation of mobility hubs in residential areas.
